TUCSON TIME TRADERS

Building Tucson’s Empowerment Network 1 Hour at a Time

What Is A Time Bank?

TimeBank is a group of people who trade an hour of work for an hour of work. The time is banked so you can trade accumulated hours with anyone within the network.

TimeBanking is a rapidly growing movement that allows people to trade assistance, and helps build healthy communities.

Missions and Values

  • We are all assets.
  • Redefining work - to value whatever it takes to raise healthy children, build strong families, revitalize neighborhoods, make democracy work, advance social justice, make the planet sustainable.
  • Reciprocity - “How can I help you?” becomes “How can we help each other build the world we both will live in?”
  • We need each other - Networks are stronger than individuals. People help each other reweave communities of support, strength and trust.
  • Respect - Every human being matters.

Your website is not user friendly when I attempted to fill out the application, and format is a little confusing.

Thanks for your feedback, we’ll pass it on to Timebanks USA, who is providing the online software for our local timebank, along with about 260 other local timebanks across the US, and serving approx 30,000 people who are members of all these timebanks.

A few months ago, Timebanks USA switched everyone to a completely new software system, and they are still working out the new bugs. Unfortunately, your “user experience” is not unusual…

Ditto w/ the comment from 01/20/ 2012.I found the process daunting, unfriendly, & superficial. It “told” me my application was Unacceptable on 3 fronts-yet, it allowed me to log in with that same info. What’s up w? that? Also, where do we submit our possible skills to be utilized in our new “community” Once again superficial and unnecessarily difficult comes to mind. Am I simply wasting my time here?

Registration could be improved by adjusting based on local user comments if the sw allows for it.

The concept of a timebank is intriguing. I’m not letting “not great” registration process keep me from joining.

Please note -

As of today, February 19, 2012, due to a continuing (but hopefully temporary) problem with TimeBanks USA’s new software system, we are changing our New Member registration procedure back to a simple form here on the ST website.

And for all current members, we are setting up a members-only community web intercom / blog for easy and open communications and networking within our local timebanking community. Details will be emailed to members early this week (around Feb 21-22).

Also, for assistance with joining or any questions, please feel free to contact Kacie Johnson at 520-203-6563 or timetraders(at)sustainabletucson.org

Thanks for your patience, everyone!
