Tucson Plugs In
TUCSON PLUGS IN 2013 is the southern Arizona element of NATIONAL PLUG IN DAY (NPID) 2013, the 3rd annual electric vehicle (EV) awareness celebration sponsored by Plug In America, the Sierra Club and the Electric Auto Association. Many cities and municipality across the United States will simultaneously host NPID events this year on or around September 29th and, as with 2011 and 2012, Tucson will again be front and center in this effort.
TUCSON PLUGS IN 2013 is sponsored locally by TEVA2, the Tucson Electric Vehicle Association, an Electric Auto Association (EAA) chapter, whose origins in the promotion of EVs in southern Arizona dates back to the 1980s.
In brief, TUCSON PLUGS IN 2013 is an opportunity for the general public – free of charge – to come out and see the latest in EV technology. Both private vehicle owners and local auto dealerships will have plug-in vehicles on display. Additionally there will be exhibits showing a variety of sustainable and environmentally-responsible energy technologies.
