Sharia Des Jardins
Born and mostly raised in Tucson, Sharia has been committed to a sustainable lifestyle for most of her life. Growing up with hippie parents and depression era grandparents the ideals of low impact living were constant in her life. For the last 20 years she has been adding sustainable education to all the work she does. Managing eco friendly kitchen and home stores in Portland, OR and Tucson, AZ has given her access to many more products and companies who are also dedicated to creating a more sustainable world. As a nanny and a family coach she also helped families create a more eco friendly experience when raising young children. With a wealth of knowledge and experience that comes from living in some of the most sustainable cities in the country, Sharia has a lot to offer in the realms of education in regards to zero waste and lowering your footprint in the world. She is a former Sustainable Tucson Core Team member who stepped down from that position to focus on the work of this committee. She is also the co-chair of the Envision Tucson Sustainable Festival. Kevin Greene
Kevin moved to Tucson in December 2019, after 20 years of government service with the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency where he worked on pollution prevention, green government and product stewardship initiatives. Prior to that, he worked at three non-profit environmental groups, focusing on clean air, solid waste planning and recycling issues. Recently he served in a volunteer capacity on the board of Sustainable Springfield (IL) Inc. and the Springfield Bicycle Advisory Council.
